Volume 50 contains the last of Frederick Engels' letters, from October 1892 through July 1895. Over two-thirds appear in English for the first time. They show the effort Engels devoted to preparing Vol. Ill of
Capital for publication. He also put great emphasis on the extension of suffrage as a weapon in the interest of working-class power. He paid close attention to developments in England and in the USA. The letters glow with his concern for family, friends and supporters. They also demonstrate his willingness to listen and to understand an opposing view, while upholding his own.
